2 Buck Drunk Calls It Quits

As many of you know one of my greatest passions is promoting and supporting live music.  Over the years I have made some great friends and heard some great music, in all genres.  I have such respect for these guys and gals who either just get out on weekends or who do it for a living, they bring such joy to so many people. So I was saddened to get a message this week that one of my favorite bands, 2 Buck Drunk, is calling it quits.

Ron Scheiferdecker has one of the greatest voices I've ever heard.  The guy can sing anything from opera to Zeppelin.  We have been fortunate to have him play around here a lot over the past few years.

I was always on Ron for two reasons:  I thought Ron should go back to the blues (he once had a major record contract), and I thought he should do music full time, to really go after it.  But, I lost both arguments.

Ron got married recently to his lovely bride Melissa and they have a club in Jefferson City called The Spot.  So maybe one night if you're in Jeff City, you can stop by tell him hi for me and have him sing you my morning theme song, which he never sent me!

I'm just kidding Ron, good luck to you and Melissa I hope the music itch comes back soon!
