I don't know if you know or not, but today is National Punctuation Day. There I got that off my chest. Now, let's get to the nuts and bolts of a Look Back With Doug. Today, we stroll back to 1988. For the record I just hit double digits that year.

I would flip the stations and I'd stumble upon two songs I most remember from that year, 'Don't Worry, Be Happy!' and 'Red, Red Wine.' They were the hottest songs on the charts it seemed and as far as I'm concerned became synonymous together.

However, Bobby McFerrin, made history with 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' because it became the first a-cappella song to make it all the way to #1 on the charts. It may have only stayed on top for two weeks, but the song lingered on. 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' garnered enough attention, to give the song Grammy recognition for Song and Record of the Year.

While, the song enjoyed success, with the release of 'Cocktail' it's rank could never be achieved again by McFerrin. It is even said that he rarely, if ever sings the song anymore.

One thing that, I did forget was that Robin Williams was in the music video. He's the guy who tries to get into the Limo and is said to have no style. Yet, another great moment for the genius of Williams. Let's go back to 1988.
