Kids, tonight we're doing our second installment of Pet Sounds at 9:00 p.m.  Make sure you listen tonight either on the air or on the web if you want to check out the new Mumford and Sons album.  I've been hearing a lot of positive feedback from you lot about this one tonight, so make sure to be tuned in.

Pet Sounds is a new segment I'd like to do maybe twice a month, where we take an album by an artist we play on BOB FM, and then play one album in full.  Usually this kind of thing doesn't happen anymore.  Most of the time we here on the air only get mp3 singles, and the whole CDs aren't sent to us to play on air.  But, I think we here at BOB are lovers of music, and sometimes we just need to express that.  So tonight, at 9:00 p.m., we're going to play the second album from the well loved British band Mumford and Sons.

I've seen them live twice: once in a tiny, tiny club in St Louis and once in a huge outdoor venue in Kansas City.  They're pretty amazing, if I do say so myself, and so tonight we'll geek out a little and hear from Marcus Mumford and Winston Marshall about how they got started, what inspires them and what went into the making of the new album 'Babel.'

Mumford and Sons have been around only for a few years and are quite popular with the younger crowd. But I find that the people of all ages who like strong lyrics, sweeping melodies, and interesting instrumentation will enjoy it too.  I might be preaching to the choir here, or I might be just spouting my own tastes, but hey.   It is my show, but I want it to be your show, too.  Let's stop - collaborate, listen, and enjoy some great music together.*

I hope everyone will be interacting with me on this one, and let me know what you think.  I'd like to know what your thoughts are on the album, on Pet Sounds, on whatever, really.  If you want us to do more of this, give me a suggestion of an artist or an album you think would be a good fit.  Even if you don't think it's a good fit, I'd still love to hear it!  If you like this edition,  tell me about your favorite song or song lyric from it, even.

Next week I'll drum up a few of your suggestions and a few of my own, and we'll do a poll where you can vote on which one you'd like to hear.  You can even still suggest albums or artists in that poll.  Then, even if we don't do your suggestion that week, we might do it later.   I'm open to just about anything, since we play the '80s, '90s, and a healthy sampling of the Whatever.

Whateverly yours,

Behka

*Yes, that was a Vanilla Ice joke.  Sorry.
