Fleetwood Mac (long before they became Fleetwood Mac) was my introduction to the blues, and we are giving you a chance to win a trip to Tacoma, Wa. to see them at the Tacoma Dome.   I know, I know, everything goes back to the blues for me, but in this case, their history really is a great rock n' roll story.

Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood, and John McVie were all in John Mahall's Blues Breakers when Peter Green decided to leave the group and start his own band.  He took John and Mick with him. Originally the band was called "Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac," and they were a white British blues band.  They had some major success in the blues world.  For instance, did you know that Peter Green wrote "Black Magic Woman" that, of course, was made famous by Santana?

Ask any blues guitarist who the best guitar players, are and more than likely Peter Green's name will be in the mix.  Of course, there is the whole "Peter Green went crazy, shot a courier, said the blues was evil, joined a cult and was locked away in a insane asylum" thing too, or the original name of Christie McVie was "Christine Perfect,"  but I'll save that for another day.

The Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks combination finally launched them into the stratosphere as rock legends.  They have produced some of the biggest selling albums of all time.
