Tuesday morning, a subject was reported to be slumped over the wheel of a vehicle at the intersection of West Main Street and South Grand Avenue. The suspect remained slumped over the wheel during a whole green light cycle, and was witnessed by Police. The subject was intoxicated. Cesar Quetzecua Chavez, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without a Valid License, and Driving While Intoxicated (Alcohol). Quetzecua was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be boked in, pending release to a sober driver.


 

Officers received a call regarding a theft from a vehicle Tuesday morning near the 900 block of West 11th Street. Officers spoke with Andrew Daugherty, and gathered information for a report. A suspect has not been identified at this time.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the Tiger Eagle Stop, 3415 East Broadway Boulevard Tuesday night for a theft report. Angela D. Sanders stated she sat her phone down, but a few minutes later, the phone was gone. Video has been requested of the incident, and a theft report was completed.


 

Tuesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Police Department lobby to meet with a subject wanting to report both a forgery and an assault that took place at the US Bank, 2102 West Broadway Boulevard. Officers took information, and a written statement was gathered from the reporting party. A report was completed.


 

Monday night, a vehicle was reportedly swerving, driving slowly, driving on the shoulder, and striking a curb. The suspect was located and observed travelling eastbound on East Broadway Boulevard. The vehicle failed to maintain its lane several times before crossing outside of its lane by several feet during the S curves east of South Marshall Avenue. The vehicle travelled outside of its lane by several feet, negotiating the entire curve outside of its lane. The driver was found to be intoxicated and impaired by drugs. Brannon Chase Walker, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated by drugs. Walker was transported to the hospital for a blood draw and Drug Recognition Expert Evaluation. Walker was then transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked in on state charges.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department to speak to a subject who wanted to make an assault report. The assault allegedly took place at the McDonald’s restaurant, 1611 South Limit Avenue. Information was gathered from the victim, and a report was completed.


 

Tuesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the area near the 300 block of West Pettis Street for a report of a disturbance in progress. The parties were separated by the time Officers arrived on scene. Conflicting accounts of what occurred were given by the parties involved. A report was completed for a 12-hour log, and one of the parties was provided transportation to a separate location.


 

On the afternoon of April 19th, Mary Young reported an accident that occurred at the Fortune Palace parking lot, 3005 South Limit Avenue. The suspect vehicle fled the scene.


 

Monday afternoon, Rosalinda Sebastion came into the lobby of the Police Department to turn in a phone that was dropped off at her house in the 1000 block of South Mildred Avenue.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of East 16th Street for a report of property damage. Officers arrived on scene, gathered information and documentation, and a report was completed.


 

Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Spring Street for a report of property damage. Donna Wolfe gave information to Officers, and a report was taken. A suspect was identified.


 

On the afternoon of April 17th, Officers responded to a report of a fight that occurred inside the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard. On arrival, Officers spoke with Rusty Shane Hayworth and gathered information to create a report. There were no injuries. While there, Officers also took a report in reference to an unrelated incident of theft. Officers spoke with asset protection at the store, and gathered information to make a report.


 

Last Friday afternoon, a female came into the lobby of the Police Department to report a violation of an order of protection.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers responded to the 1400 block of East 7th Street regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival, a male was identified. He had four warrants for his arrest out of Sedalia. Adrian D. Muntean, 19, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Animal at Large, Animal License Violation, and two Miscellaneous Animal Violations (No Rabies Vaccination, and Biting or Attacking Another Person). Muntean was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in, pending a total cash only bond of $298.00.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the Sedalia Cold Storage, 314 East Main Street* regarding a possible burglary Monday afternoon. Officers located a door on the back of the property that had been forced open. The suspect and cost of the damages are unknown at this time.


 

Monday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3000 block of South Limit Avenue because it ran a red light. The driver was found to have a blood alcohol content in excess of .08 and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Persistent Offender). Chase G. Sorensen, 42, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked for charges of DWI, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, and Failure to Stop at a Red Light.
