SFCC Honors Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees

On Tuesday night, the State Fair Community College Booster Club announced the Athletic Hall of Fame inductees.  This year they include former player Chuck Johnson, former SFCC rodeo rider Joe Peabody and former State Fair Women's and Men's Head Coach Dale Kimberling.  All are fitting inductees, but I especially want to congratulate Dale.  Dale took two women's teams to the National Tournament and was named coach of the year both in 1989 and 1999.

Dale is one of my best friends in the world of sports,  he and I had a lot of fun on the road together in the 20 years he coached at SFCC.  I was with him for the full 20. We were the first winners of the SFCC booster club golf tournament along with Gary Noland.

For years, Women's basketball around these parts was synonymous with Dale Kimberling and Men's basketball was synonymous with Bill Barton, and I thank them both for what they did for SFCC and me personally.

Congratulations Dale, you deserve this honor!
