Heart Attack

After reading the title of this story, you're probably thinking this has something to do with radio. Well, I guess it does a little since I"m posting this from the radio station. But the radio portion of this story stops at that.

Jon Ster, a multi-instrumentalist with Lillian Axe (and pictured above second from the right), has died after suffering a heart attack in Dallas.

Primus drummer Tim Alexander, who also plays in the band Puscifer, suffered a heart attack yesterday.

In the annals of awful crimes, this one is tough to top. Police in Williamson, Illinois arrested a man for trying to steal the wallet of a man while he appeared to have a heart attack at a local bar.

He's one of the most energetic performers in rock 'n' roll history, but even Little Richard can't avoid the effects of getting older. And he recently received a scary reminder of his own mortality.

Ask any old guy what an "event" is and he or she will tell you that's the day you had a heart attack.  Well, Wednesday marks my eight-year anniversary of my event.

I actually started this journey right after I woke up in the ICU at Boone Hospital in Columbia with two stints to keep the blood flowing from my heart. That was on Jan. 9 after I suffered a heart attack. At that point it was easy to promise myself, that I would do everything I could to never have a repeat of that scary event.
