It's hard to believe that the Rolling Stones are celebrating their 50th year of rock n' roll.  When I heard they were going out on tour to celebrate and that they were going to have a new CD, to be honest, I was a little nervous for them.  I didn't want the world's greatest rock band to make fools of themselves.  But after listening to their new single release "Doom and Gloom," I have no worries.  The song is so reminiscent of the '70s Stones that I was shocked.

You know, if you are in any other form of music, 50 years would be celebrated by the critics and you would be in Branson. But when you a rock icon, that's a little different.

I first saw the Stones in 1982, I think, while attending the University of Wyoming.  My roomates and I took off to Boulder, Colorado to see them at the University of Colorado football stadium.  They were playing with Heart and George Thorogood.  After some negotiations with security and a Rasta gentleman we wound up in the front row man what a show.

You can hear the new song "Doom and Gloom" this morning between 7am and 8am let me know what you think.
