The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control has requested additional charges filed in an investigation involving Robert Wayne Stuart, 35, of Fulton.

Stuart was arrested on Sept. 26, 2023, for six counts of possession of child pornography, following an investigation by the Division of Drug and Crime Control’s Digital Forensics Investigations Unit. New information was obtained during the ongoing investigation, and on Oct. 4, 2023, the Moniteau County Prosecutor charged Stuart with sexual misconduct involving a child.

On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, investigators with the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control arrested Stuart at his residence, located in Callaway County, for possession of child pornography. At that time, Stuart was held in the Callaway County Jail, on a $50,000 bond, while investigators continued the investigation.

During a forensic examination of Stuart’s cellular telephone, investigators recovered additional evidence that was sexual in nature and depicted a minor in Moniteau County. On Oct. 4, 2023, the Moniteau County Prosecuting Attorney formally charged Stuart with sexual misconduct involving a child under 15. Stuart has a no-bond warrant from Moniteau County, as a result of this case. He remains in the Callaway County Jail. The bond amount from the original charges in Callaway County has been changed to no bond allowed.

The Division of Drug and Crime Control encourages internet users to promptly report to the Patrol or local law enforcement anyone who attempts to engage in unwanted, inappropriate, or sexualized communications with children.

-- The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
