Kids, today I am going to talk to you about some lady R&B.  I'm sure you have heard of Lauryn Hill.  She was in the Rap/Pop group the Fugees with Wyclef Jean (who ran for President of Haiti).  After the group disbanded, she did her own solo albums, as did the others.

Her first solo album was called The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.  It won tons of awards and was generally well liked by critics, and it had a few hit singles on pop radio at the time.  This was a little more than ten years ago, 1998.  She's made one other album since then (an Unplugged live effort of new songs) and it's kind of generally agreed that she's gone bonkers.

But at one time, she was brilliant.  This song is about the terrible break up of her relationship with Wyclef Jean.

It was a single, but I've always felt it was more of an album track because the radio edit takes some of the gumption out of it.  If you've ever had a bad breakup or felt that kind of pain, this song will probably touch that part of you.

Breakily yours,
Behka
