Rumor Claims Buc-ee’s Scouting St. Louis, Missouri Location

I don't normally participate in gossip (that I'm willing to admit), but I'll make an exception in this case. A little bird has whispered in my ear that the world-famous Buc-ee's has been scouting a St. Louis, Missouri location and may be about to announce something soon.

It's no secret that the only Missouri Buc-ee's location in Springfield has been a roaring success since it opened in late 2023. Many have wondered how long it would be before the famous chain would decide to build in Missouri's biggest cities. We may be about to find out. Maybe.

I saw this juicy rumor just shared a few hours ago by St. Louis News Updates on Facebook. They said the following (and I quote) "BREAKING: Buc-ee's, the distinguished Texas-based gas station and convenience store chain, plans to establish a new location in St. Louis County. Sources report they have been scouting real estate in the area for nearly 2 years in hopes to secure a premium location soon." You can read their status update for yourself to see that I'm not imagining this.

Here's the problem. There is no direct confirmation from Buc-ee's at this point. As a matter of fact, the list of new Buc-ee's locations for the next 3 years did NOT include St. Louis or any other Missouri places.

Here's my non-scientific take on this rumor. We know for an almost fact that Buc-ee's has a proposed location in the Kansas City area (technically in Kansas). I think there's no doubt that Buc-ee's has at least done due diligence into a possible St. Louis location. That doesn't mean it will see the light of day in the next year or so, but I'd bet my bottom dollar that the St. Louis area will have a Buc-ee's in the next 3 to 5 years. It's only a matter of time.
