Warrensburg Chamber to Present MLK Service Awards January 15

An integral part of the University of Central Missouri’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration is the presentation of the MLK Community Service Award and the MLK High School Community Service Award.

The awards are presented jointly by the Greater Warrensburg Area Chamber of Commerce and the UCM Center for Multiculturalism and Inclusivity.

The 2025 awards will be presented at the Warrensburg Chamber luncheon on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at Northside Christian Church, 500 North Ridgeview Drive in Warrensburg These awards seek to honor those in our community who exemplify humanitarianism, leadership, and selfless service.

The Community Service Award is open to any individual or organization in Johnson County, and the High School Community Service Award is open to any student enrolled in high school in Johnson County. Nominations closed on Dec. 13.

Guest speaker at the luncheon will be Sha Quan Clarke, owner of Unruly Igzatiks and an active-duty military member. The community is invited to attend the luncheon.
