Florence Welch In New ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy? Source Says Singer Will Play a ‘Major Part’
We all know that Florence Welch can sing — but can she act as well? According to a recent story, Florence + the Machine's dynamic frontwoman is being considered for a “major part” in the upcoming ‘Star Wars’ trilogy.
"She has done some acting but it was her singing on stage that initially caught the eye," a source said. "Almost every actress in Hollywood wants a role in the new movies but we are keen to cast people who are unexpected. Florence is being considered for a major part that would turn her into an A-list actress overnight."
“We think Florence has the exact style we are looking for,” a ‘Star Wars’ insider reported.
Directed by J.J. Abrams and produced by George Lucas’ Lucasfilm, ‘Star Wars Episode VII’ is slated for a summer 2015 release. A number of original cast members, including Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, are all to appear in the new trilogy. Click here for more info on the upcoming series.
