Flula Borg – Idioms

Imagine moving to a different country.  Suddenly, you’re driving on the opposite side of the road, adhering to new laws; everyone dresses a little differently, speaks another language, and gets a kick out of hearing you try to learn it. Flula Borg did just that…but he’s succeeding at it.

If you’ve never hunkered down for a YouTube session of his wild and crazy antics, you’re truly missing out. When I’m looking for a dose of make-me-laugh, I go straight to his clips about American idioms. His literal take on some of our favorite sayings will have you in stitches.

"Flula Borg is a musician, DJ, host, actor, hype-man, and writer born and raised in Erlangen, Germany," according to IMBD. Borg currently resides in Los Angeles and "continues to pursue music." It’s obvious he’s not afraid to work while continuing to post those videos that make us chuckle.

I’ve had one friend, and I do mean only one friend, who has told me that he finds Flula fraudulent.  He believes his accent to be put on, which has sparked a lot of debate between the two of us. He finds Flula’s childlike understanding of our common expressions annoying, at best. I beg to differ and while I’m doubled over giggling, a tear streaming down my face, my friend stares at me in disbelief as to how I can find any of it entertaining.

You be the judge. Is Flula as funny as I think he is? Believe me, either way, I’ll still find him extremely amusing (even if I’ve seen a particular video ten times before). Even as I type this, I’m chuckling from reviewing what I’m about to post.
