Sedalia and Lee's Summit will be among the communities that will get a new all-day breakfast restaurant after convenience store chain Temp-Stop signs a deal to develop multiple units in Missouri.

According to CSP Daily News, Huddle House has partnered with Temp-Stop, which will help the all-day breakfast joint expand its footprint in Missouri. The first store will open at 4575 S. Limit Avenue, Sedalia, Missouri, while the second will open at one of the Temp-Stops in Lee's Summit.

If you're wondering what Huddle House is, it's a slightly more upscale version of Waffle House. That's not necessarily a perfect analogy, but it should give you some idea of what the restaurant is like.

According to their website, Huddle House started over 50 years ago in Decatur, Georgia. The premise is to bring friends and family together over delicious food from the heart. They promise good homestyle food without the fuss.

I had an opportunity to eat at a Huddle House a couple of times when they came to Lubbock, and I thought the food was good. I got some breakfast, probably a waffle with hash browns and bacon. While I wouldn't say it was the best breakfast ever, it wasn't a bad meal by any stretch of the imagination.

Temp-Stop co-owner, president, and managing member Terry Green told CSP Daily, "When evaluating restaurant options, Huddle House stood out to us as the clear winner. The brand has excellent franchise support in all areas from menu development to restaurant design, and we know that with their support we can meet and exceed the community’s dining expectations.”

Kayla Edidin, senior director of development of Huddle House, told CSP Daily, “Together, we aim to create a destination where locals and travelers alike can savor delicious meals in a welcoming atmosphere.”

In my limited experience with Huddle House, I can see the new restaurant doing very well here in Sedalia. Besides Perkins and Country Kitchen, it's another option for breakfast and similar menu items. I assume the restaurant's hours will be better than Country Kitchen's, which closes mid-afternoon. It may be a slightly quicker experience for people on the go than sitting down at either of those places.

CSP Daily says Sedalia's Huddle House at the Temp-Stop on South Limit should open sometime this October. The Huddle House restaurants associated with Temp-Stop sites will be about 2,200 square feet and can seat around 45 customers.
