$13,000 Martini in Illinois is most expensive in USA
The cost of everything has gone up quite a bit over the last four years. Now a Chicago restaurant called “Adalina” on North State Street has teamed up with “Marrow Fine” a jewelry store that’s stationed beneath the restaurant to unveil the “Marrow Martini” that costs a whopping $13,000…(!!!)
The Marrow Martini is unique in that it includes a nine carat diamond tennis necklace with 150 diamonds and 14k gold. Both business' lean into luxury and have much the same clietele.
The gems aren’t the only exceptional aspects of the martini. The beverages is described as a “smoked heirloom tomato mezcal martini” that includes: clarified heirloom tomato water, lemon basil olive oil and chili liqueur with Clase Azul Mezcal made from green agave. The cocktail is then “smoked” in a glass cloche before the necklace is draped onto it.
Adalina general manager Colin Hofer, a former “Sommelier of the year” wanted the mixed drink to taste like a garden.
Obviously this cocktail isn’t something that regular customers are going to order. But, for someone looking for that singular opulent experience that you can’t get anywhere else? The Marrow Martini awaits.
