Missouri City Makes Top Ten for America’s Best Town for Halloween
There are plenty of fun places to celebrate Halloween this year, and one Missouri city is being recognized as one of the top ten best destinations for the holiday.
St. Louis made the list of top ten cities to celebrate Halloween this year, according to Finance Buzz. The ranking considered factors such as candy stores, Spirit Halloween locations, pumpkin patches, fall weather, “real” haunted houses, and more.

St. Louis is known for having some of the best haunted houses in the country, including a few genuinely “real” haunted houses for those seeking a thrilling experience this season. Surprisingly, St. Louis even has more candy stores than Buffalo, New York.
The city also earned recognition for having the sixth-highest number of real haunted houses per capita. So, if you want to brave the Lemp Mansion or the truly terrifying Exorcist House, more power to you; I’ll be sitting safely outside, watching from a distance.
Other cities that made the top Halloween spots include:
- Salt Lake City
- Riverside, California
- Pittsburgh
- Cincinnati
- Toledo
- Cleveland
- Oakland
- Hartford
- Buffalo
Since Halloween falls on a Friday this year, it could be a great opportunity for a fun trip to one of these top destinations. Although I’m surprised Salem didn’t make the list—it really should have.

I’ve always wanted to visit around this time of year, but I’ve heard it can be overwhelmingly crowded, making it hard to fully enjoy the “Witch City” experience with so many tourists visiting.
