While national brands are built on consistency of product and overall dependability, the local flavors can move quicker into trends -or even set trends within the local market that larger brands can’t react to as quickly.  Advantage local. When it comes to local establishments, knowing that the money you are spending stays in the area is a plus. This is one of the reasons that local coffee places are rising across the country.

Yelp released a list of the best 100 coffee shops in the United States. The list is dominated by coffee shops in California and Hawaii (and the west coast). The Midwest has some must try spots too, and in Missouri (per Yelp) the top coffee shop is The Foundry Bakery in Maryland Heights.

This underscores the reality that you can switch up and deliver your coffee in various creative ways, but what other items do you have to complement the coffee. At The Foundry Bakery it may be the other way around as their baked goods get high marks. The beverages include lots of lattes, teas, and fruit milks. But the baked goods shine with mooncakes, bolo buns, rustic breads and large cookies, tarts and orange buns.
