This Illinois Attraction Is a Must-See Summer Destination
There are so many incredible places to visit in the Land of Lincoln. From the Lincoln Memorial sites in Springfield to Lincoln Park Zoo, catching a game at Wrigley Field, exploring Chicago’s world-class museums, and of course, snapping a photo at Cloud Gate (The Bean).
However, travel experts at HGTV say there’s one spot you absolutely must add to your summer bucket list:
Visit the Skydeck at Willis Tower in Chicago
Could you walk out 103 floors above Chicago with nothing beneath you but a thin pane of glass? I attempted it a few years ago, and the feeling of almost falling while floating in the air is definitely a thrill. But if you're not a fan of heights, this experience might not be for you.

So Many Illinois Attractions
If you don’t think you can handle the Skydeck and those heights (like me), don’t worry, there’s so much more to see in Chicago and the surrounding areas. Take Gurnee, just outside the city, which is home to the second-largest mall in Illinois and the thrill-packed Six Flags.

And if you do make it to the Willis Tower, you don’t have to brave the Skydeck to enjoy your visit. There’s also a fascinating museum inside where you can learn more about the second-tallest building in the Western Hemisphere.
