This Missouri Christmas Song Might Cure Holiday Music Fatigue
This time of year, our Christmas playlists are plump with sing-along classics and favorites from our youth. You may, however be reaching peak Christmas music fatigue, or are at least stressed out by trying to avoid Wham’s “Last Christmas”. There is a song that may put the merry back in your Christmas…if you love the Show-Me State.
Shelby Ringdahl of Columbia, MO.
Back in 2021, former Miss Missouri and Columbia, MO. native Shelby Ringdahl released “Merry Ol’ Missouri”, her heartfelt Christmas song to her home state. With references to the “Magic tree” (which is a crab apple in Columbia that gets mummified in lights like no other tree in the state for Christmas), the relaxed pace and relative quiet of the “Flyover state”, and how Missouri shaped who she is.
Shelby also has created the “Merry Ol’ Missouri” Christmas Spectacular Show for the family in Columbia (showing Dec. 18th, 19th, and 20th this year) with singing, dancing, and acrobats along with Santa Claus. The show is in its second year and promises to deliver Christmas cheer to your Missouri heart.

If you live in Missouri, or are from the Show-Me State and have moved away, Ringdahl’s Christmas song for Missouri will make you feel home (for the holidays).
