While most students are currently enjoying a well-deserved summer break, it won't be long before many families begin planning for where their kids will attend high school if they haven't already. A new prestigious ranking has revealed the highest-rated Missouri high schools for the Fall 2025 semester.

There is no more respected review of American high schools I know of than US News & World Report. They recently updated their best high schools of Missouri list revealing the 5 best places in the state when it comes to college preparation. They reviewed more than 20,000 high schools across the country and ranked 367 schools in Missouri alone. These are the best of the best when it comes to Missouri public high schools.

Education has changed so much from the era when I attended high school in Missouri. Now, students not only have to prove they know the basics like reading, writing and math, but Missouri also requires that students have at least a half credit in personal finance. There are now consumer lessons that students learn today that were never a part of my schooling. I'm pretty sure the only reason why one of my high school teachers passed me was because he didn't want to see me in his class again. Looking back I can say he made a good decision. I have no doubt the Missouri high school students of today will make much better decisions than I did. We can only hope.
