In a news release shared Monday of this week, Carters announced some measures that would hopefully lead to more profitability. Carters said it "now plans to close approximately 150 stores at lease expiration in North America over the next three years, an increase from its previously-disclosed target of approximately 100 stores, with approximately 100 stores to be closed over the fiscal year 2025 and 2026 periods". Based on what they shared, they believe that other Carters locations will see an increase in business that are near the store closures in addition to more online sales. According to the store locator, Carters still maintains 14 locations in Missouri as of the time of this writing.

The company did not list the Carters locations that would be closing once their leases are complete so there's no way to know how many or if any Missouri stores will be impacted by the planned closures. If the company reveals new information about the Missouri stores, this article will be updated to reflect that.
