Missouri’s Summer May Be Unusual, Says Farmer’s Almanac
When someone or something tells me that something in Missouri will be weird, all I can say is that bar is very high. No state does "weird" quite as well as my birth state. Farmer's Almanac is using that weird word to describe what they predict weather will be like in the Show Me State this summer.
It was yesterday when I saw Farmer's Almanac share their prediction of the upcoming summer season on social media.
Missouri is known for having hot and dry summers, but Farmer's Almanac is predicting the opposite for summer 2026. They say it will be hotter and drier than normal for most of the United States, but not Missouri. No can do. Missouri is insisting on being weird and contrary to everywhere else with a cool and rainy summer ahead. Considering how high my Missouri utility bill was last summer that I'm still paying on, I'd welcome cool and rainy weather if their prediction comes true. For now, paint me skeptical.
It's worth mentioning that the Farmer's Almanac summer 2026 predictions come from not one, but two meteorologists so it's not just someone standing in the yard holding sticks up toward the sky forecasting weather. There is some science behind what they do. I hope Farmer's Almanac is right. A wet and cool summer in Missouri is preferrable to a torrid and dry one.
