20 Illinois Bank Branches Suddenly Closing Their Doors Forever

This really was inevitable if you think about it. A new report says that at least 21 Illinois bank branches have decided to suddenly close their doors forever and we really shouldn't be surprised.

Ask yourself a question. When was the last time you set foot inside a brick and mortar bank? Maybe your answer is different than mine, but it's been at least a year since I went into the bank my family has used for decades. The fact that most would likely answer the same way is the reason for this new Illinois bank report.

Newsweek just reported that hundreds of banks are closing branches around America. In Illinois alone there are 20 that either have announced an imminent closure or are already closed. Here is that list:

I would highly advise you check out the full Newsweek list to see the who's and why's of these bank branch closings. I will admit that hearing of bank closings gives me a bit of trepidation about not having human beings to interact with when I have banking questions, but I really can't blame the banks for trying to reduce costs when fewer and fewer of us are using these brick and mortar buildings now.
