This is an improvement, but the dream has not been realized yet. In-N-Out Burgers is opening 3 new restaurants in one of Missouri's neighbors, but a road trip will still be required if you desire this iconic burger.

In-N-Out Burger is often voted among the most favorite burger brands in America

I have California friends who have raved about their In-N-Out Burger obsessions for years. As their location map shows, they are still very much a western United States brand, but they are moving eastward. I would also like to point out that the In-N-Out Burger arrow logo points toward Missouri, for what that's worth.

That eastward push towards Missouri by In-N-Out Burgers continues as Cheapism is reporting that they will open 3 new locations in Tennessee starting in early 2026:

  • 4130 William Turner Pkwy., Antioch
  • 915 South Hartmann Dr., Lebanon
  • 2508 Medical Center Pkwy., Murfreesboro

There has been speculation on Reddit for years about Missouri getting an In-N-Out Burger. The voices became so loud that a couple years ago KSDK in St. Louis reached out to In-N-Out Burger about the rumors of a Missouri restaurant. The head dudes at In-N-Out said at that time that they had no current plans to come to Missouri, but they also said that about Tennessee a few years ago, too. Could these 3 new Tennessee In-N-Out Burgers signal a willingness by the brand to expand into the Midwest. Don't be shocked if St. Louis gets a restaurant in the next few years. I figure they would want to rival Whataburger's KC presence in Missouri sooner rather than later.
