ISP Crackdown in East St. Louis Yields 20 Felonies in 2 Nights

The long arm of the law has taken some crime off of the streets in East St. Louis. The Illinois State Police just completed a 2-night operation that resulted in 37 criminal charges including 20 felonies.

The Illinois State Police just shared details of a 2-night crackdown that they carried out in the metro east area including East St. Louis on November 18 and 19. They focused on violent offenders in high-crime areas and gangs. Here's the result of their recent efforts:

• Arrests 25
• Felony Charges 20
• Criminal Charges 37
• Firearm Related Charges 16
• Firearms Seized 13

The Illinois State Police said this was an effort carried out by many law enforcement groups including Troops 8, Zone 6 Firearms Investigations Unit, Public Safety Enforcement Group (PSEG), Crime Scene Services, and ISP Air Operations, assisted ISP Statewide Anti-Violence Enforcement (SAVE) South.
