
Missouri Searching for Whoever Poached this Elk
The Missouri Department of Conservation is searching for a poacher who is believed to be responsible for the illegal killing of an elk and there's a reward for information that helps locate the guilty person or persons.
The Missouri Department of Conservation just shared this update on social media today asking for the public's help in locating someone who poached an elk. You can see a picture of the poached elk here.

According to the press release from the Missouri Department of Conservation, the carcass of this elk was first noticed by visitors to the Peck Ranch Conservation Area around November 25, 2025. They also mentioned several pictures shared on social media that related to this poaching. Missouri's Operation Game Thief also added they're offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the poacher(s) who shot the elk. You can remain anonymous if you choose, but you're urged to call the MDC hotline at (800) 392-1111 if you have any information that could help with the investigation.
“This was an intentional, brazen, and totally irresponsible act committed by someone with no respect for our wildlife or other people,” said Agent Hadley. “We are committed to thoroughly investigating wildlife crimes so that those responsible can be held accountable. The wildlife and people we serve deserve nothing less.”
