Missouri Man Builds Incredible House Inside a Hole in the Ground
Never underestimate the ingenuity of a Missouri man who has a vision. A new video share shows how one guy turned a hole in the ground into his own personal place and he's not the only one living this kind of life.
If you don't already follow Kirsten Dirksen on YouTube, do it. She has over 2.15 million subscribers and I'm one of the new ones as she often shares super-interesting content. This recent feature is about Kyle Yoder who quite literally built a home out of a hole in the ground in Missouri. He built a "gnome dome" out of a hole that was abandoned by its owner due to mold and used approximately $3,000 to make it into a cozy home.
According to what Kirsten shared, Kyle lives as a part of the Dancing Rabbit community which is an eco-village that is self-sustaining. They even have their own common kitchen area and gathering place where they share cooking responsibilities.
Kyle said in the feature that he loves having a home where he can reach out and touch all the walls. He's even got a nice skylight built into the top of it.
This isn't the type of lifestyle for everyone, but for someone like Kyle who says he couldn't afford a conventional home and he wants to support a world that is less reliant on trees for building, it's a unique way of life that works for him.
