An outbreak of Listeria connected to pasta meals widely available in both Missouri and Illinois has just gotten worse. There are now many new illnesses and even two deaths that have resulted from this contamination of ready-to-eat meals.

The US Food & Drug Administration first issued an urgent recall dating back to June and then expanded in September - Now there's a new October bulletin

Here's what we know about this updated Listeria bulletin from the FDA:

  • Ready-to-eat pasta meals produced by Nate's Fine Foods, Inc were widely available in both Missouri & Illinois
  • 7 new illnesses and 2 new deaths since late September
  • 27 people infected with Listeria in 18 different states
  • It's believed many still have these ready-to-eat meals in their freezers
