The Crown Ridge Tiger Sanctuary in  Ste. Genevieve, Missouri announced in a press release on their website that they have decided to shut down in September.

“We are incredibly proud of the impact we’ve made and the lives we’ve touched – both feline and human,” said John Madigan, Operations Manager at Crown Ridge Tiger Sanctuary. “This place has been more than a sanctuary – it’s been a home, a mission, and a community. While it’s incredibly hard to say goodbye, we know our animals will be in good hands, and we take comfort in the legacy we’ve built together.”

What will happen to the tigers they've cared for?

Crown Ridge says Sebastian and Shakira will be permanently rehomed to Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They added that "Thor, due to her advanced age, will remain at Crown Ridge to live out her life".

When will they close?

Crown Ridge Tiger Sanctuary will offer one final public tour on Sunday, September 28, 2025.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to every supporter, volunteer, staff member, and visitor who has walked this journey with us,” said Madigan. “Your compassion made our work possible, and your support will continue to ensure a bright future for these incredible animals.”
