Where do the beautiful people in Missouri hang out? If you believe the most popular dating apps, there are 4 locations in the state with the most romantic appeal right now.

If you've seen my profile picture, you know for a fact that I am not, in fact, one of the beautiful people. I do live in Missouri though and since I've convinced my wife to put up with me for the past 23 years, I consider myself an expert on this topic. Not really, but it sounded fun to say it out loud. Nonetheless, I did have the sense to query the databases of the most popular dating apps and here are the 4 areas that have the most appeal right now (allegedly).

St. Louis

  • Biggest dating pool in Missouri because so many singles live there
  • Strongest concentration of conventionally attractive professionals, fitness culture, nightlife, and affluent suburbs.
  • Lots of Hinge and Bumble users in St. Louis apparently that are very active
  • Areas constantly mentioned by users: Clayton, Central West End and St. Charles County.

Kansas City

  • Trendy, polished, influencer-heavy dating scene.
  • Dating app users claim Kansas City singles are "Instagram attractive" whatever that means
  • Large young professional population around downtown, Crossroads, and Johnson County suburbs.

Columbia

  • Probably the highest concentration of attractive people per capita.
  • College-town effect from University of Missouri keeps the dating pool young, active, and appearance-conscious.
  • University of Missouri means the dating apps have a high turnover rate of new singles who live there

Springfield

  • Surprisingly active dating app scene.
  • Strong outdoors/gym culture.
  • Large student and healthcare-worker population.

Don't take this personal if you live in Springfield (or do if you enjoy being mad), but I'm surprised to see Springfield make this list. Maybe it's because I've watched so many episode of COPS that was filmed there that I have an incorrect perception of what Springfield is like. That's probably it. Anyway, welcome to the realm of the beautiful (Missouri) people.
