Hooters Has Suddenly Closed 3 Missouri Locations & 1 in Illinois

This has been one of the most difficult years in recent memory (2020 not withstanding) for food establishments. Hooters is no exception as they have suddenly shut the doors on numerous locations across America including 3 in Missouri and 1 in Illinois.

I heard a few weeks ago that Hooters was planning to close some locations, but had no idea that process was already well underway in Missouri and Illinois. USA Today has compiled a list of all the Hooters which have either closed already or plan to close and it includes these Missouri places.

Hooters, Florissant, 2765 N. Highway 67

Hooters, 19850 E. Valley View Pkwy, Independence, Missouri

Hooters, 6411 Barry Rd, North Kansas City, Missouri

Hooters, 3241 Horizon Drive, Springfield, Illinois

There's no word if the 40 Hooters that were to be closed is the complete list or if there are more to come.

Here's another twist to this Hooters locations closing in Missouri and Illinois and I'd imagine this is likely connected somehow. Sports Illustrated says that just yesterday Hendrick Motorsports is suing Hooters for unpaid sponsorship money for their space on Chase Elliott's car. It would appear that there is real trouble in the Hooters headquarters, but whether that leads to more Missouri and Illinois closings remains to be seen.
