Father Christmas Arrives in Warrensburg by Train to Kick Off the Holiday Season
The Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce the return of one of the community’s most cherished holiday traditions -- Father Christmas arriving by train to welcome the magic of the season.
On Saturday, Dec. 6, families are invited to gather at the historic depot area for a festive morning filled with holiday cheer.
The celebration will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a special preview performance of the Nutcracker by Center Stage Academy, showcasing local talent and setting the perfect tone for a joyful day.

Following the performance, excitement will grow as the community awaits the arrival of Father Christmas himself. Traveling directly from the “North Pole,” he is scheduled to step off the 9:57 a.m. Amtrak train, greeting children and families as he makes his grand entrance into Warrensburg.
Following his arrival, Father Christmas will make his way downtown through the Warrensburg Main Street event, “Dickens’ Christmas” which begins at 10 a.m. This annual event is free and open to the public, offering a magical experience for attendees of all ages.
Families are encouraged to come early, enjoy the performance, and share in the warmth and wonder of the season. For more information, contact Kelly Davenport at the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce office at (660) 747-3168.
At 10:27 a.m. the River Runner will arrive in Sedalia, and families are invited to gather at the depot to welcome this merry crew. Children can enjoy the moment Santa steps off the train and greets the crowd, creating a scene full of wonder and holiday spirit.
Just inside the station, Lamy’s will host a Grinch Punch and Cookie reception in their beautifully decorated lobby. It is a perfect place to warm up, enjoy a sweet treat, and take photos with Santa in a festive setting.
Visitors are encouraged to continue the fun by exploring downtown Sedalia. Local shops offer great options for holiday shopping, and our restaurants provide a variety of places to enjoy lunch with family and friends. The entire morning is a celebration of community, connection, and the joy of the season.
