
‘Minor Freight Train Derailment’ Temporarily Blocks Two RR Crossings in Sedalia
A minor freight train derailment temporarily closed two railroad crossings in downtown Sedalia on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the City of Sedalia, a minor freight train derailment involving Union Pacific occurred late Wednesday afternoon. Judging by photos posted by the City of Sedalia, the actual derailment occurred between the Engineer and Ohio crossings.
No injuries were reported. The incident involved a freight train only.
As a result, the Ohio Street Crossing and W.T. Morris Ave were blocked for a time. All other railroad crossings in Sedalia remained open and operational.

Sedalia Police and Sedalia Fire responded to the scene.
Union Pacific stated that they will likely be there most of the night, moving back and forth.
