As of September 15, the next phase of the Rethink Maguire project has begun in Warrensburg.

This phase sees road crews rebuilding entire sections of the roadway from south to north down Maguire Street, Warrensburg’s most used street. It also entails mill and overlay projects of Maguire Street and other nearby streets, which is when the asphalt of the road is stripped and replaced to ensure a smooth surface, and permanent pavement striping, which is when guidelines are painted onto the surface.

The construction is likely to last all the way into the end of November assuming all goes well. The construction crews will be following a schedule of six individual phases, with each phase representing a specific section of the road and action to be performed.

During the time of construction, various lanes of the road will be closed to traffic, with detours on side streets provided. Plan for the occasional build-up of traffic as cars are rerouted from day-to-day. Most sections of the road, however, will remain available depending on which area crews are working on at the time.

For those looking to visit businesses on Maguire Street, those locations will remain open during the construction. If access from the main road is not available, side streets will remain available to allow businesses to keep functioning as close to normal as possible.

If you have any about how to access a business, contact the Rethink Maguire team by phone at 660-422-2844 or email them at contact@rethinkmaguire.com.
