I know the Missouri State Fair is known for primarily the country music acts that it brings to town, but if you are like me and looking for something a little more on the blues side, you are in luck.  Jason Elmore and the Hoodoo Witch Band will be in the area this weekend.

Thursday they will be at Dickie Doo for a free show, and at The Roadhouse on the Fairgrounds on Saturday.  Jason Elmore brings a great blend of Texas blues mixed with some delta blues, along with some great guitar work.  Jason's album contains mostly original stuff, and it's terrific.  Songs like "Big Money Grip" and "All it Does is Rain" not only show off Jason's vocal chops, but his ability to tell a great story as well.

Jason's album was produced by Jim Suhler.  A lot of you will see Jim this weekend too since he plays guitar for George Thorogood.  It's a wonderful album, Jason is a great entertainer and it's nice to have some blues back in town.  Hmmm, I wonder if there is a chance Suhler, Lancaster and Elmore could wind up in the same place at the same time this weekend.  Now that's a show I wanna see!

One final note for you rock fans: Full Moon and 2 Buck Drunk will be at the Bud Tent this Friday and Saturday as well, they're two great classic rock bands.  I'll see you at one or more of these shows this weekend.
