Mozark Fest Is Here: What You Need To Know!
Mozark Fest is here, and it's time for a fun-filled weekend of music and fun inspired by the Ozark Music Festival, which was held in July of 1974. Here's a quick rundown of things that are good to know before you head out to the festival for a day or weekend of fun!
Mozark Fest is this weekend, Friday, September 20 - Sunday, September 22, 2024 on the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia, Missouri.
Parking and Free Activities
First, parking is free at Mozark Fest, and there are a variety of free activities and exhibits everyone is welcome to enjoy throughout the weekend. There is also no charge to access the fairgrounds and walk around. However, some activities may have some form of a fee or admission charge. Some of the free things you can check out:
- Kids Zone behind the MEC building near the Mo State Fair's kids playground - Saturday & Sunday
- The Traveling Vietnam Wall
- The West Central Missouri Vintage Auto Club Classic Car Show - Saturday, September 21.
- Midwest VW Fest All VW and vintage campers shine and show - Sunday, September 22.
- Dodge Charger Gathering 1:00 PM -4:00 PM Friday, September 20
- Team Xtreme International Demonstration - Sunday, September 22
- Timeline of the Bicycle featuring bikes from 1820 - 1930 - All weekend
- Guided Tours of Starline Brass / Trails End Plaza
Camping
Fairgrounds camping and 1300 full RV hookups are available at $35 a night. For more information call 1-800-422-3247
Screenings of Jeff Lujin's Documentary: "The Story Of The Ozark Music Festival: 3 Days of Sodom and Gomorrah In Sedalia Missouri"
Screenings are scheduled daily at 2:00 PM, 4:30 PM, and 7:00 PM in the Women's Building across from the grandstand. Tickets are $10.00 each and are available at the door. Depending on festival goers' interest, Jeff may also offer a 10:30 PM screening.
You can learn more about the screenings and the movie here and listen to an interview with filmmaker Jeff Lujin!
Vendors, Concessions, etc.
There will be a variety of fine arts, crafts, and quilts, and vendors will show their items and sell them throughout Mozark Fest at the Vendor Show and Sale.
Baseball and football fans can keep up with their favorite Missouri teams at the Sports Theatre Bar, which features a 20-foot screen and sells your favorite libations. A variety of food trucks will also sell great food, treats, and sweets!
Concert Ticket Information
You will need a ticket to attend the Mozark Fest Concerts. Concert seating is set up very similar to the system used by the Missouri State Fair for concerts, with grandstand and trackside seats available.
- Three-day Fest Passes give you access to all grandstand concerts. Grandstand tickets cost $150, and VIP tickets cost $195. VIP tickets provide you with access to the track, premium restroom options, and a dance area.
- Tickets for attendance to one day of grandstand concerts range from $55 - $75 depending on the day you want to attend and whether you choose grandstand or VIP tickets. VIP tickets provide you with access to the track, premium restroom options, and a dance area.
Tickets are available through the E-Tix / Mozark Festival website and at the Missouri State Fair Box Office outside the grandstand.
As is also the case for Missouri State Fair concerts, food and drink may not be brought into the grandstand. Attendees will be asked to finish their food and drink before entering the grandstand area. (My educated guess is that GUESA USA will have concession stands open in the grandstand.)
Talent Lineup and Approximate Running Order
As always, artists are scheduled to appear. The running order and lineup are subject to change without notice. Running a festival lineup is as much art as science.
The grandstand will open at 3:00 PM on Friday, September 20, and Saturday, September 21. Performances will start at approximately 4:00 PM. On Sunday, September 21, the grandstand will open at 1:00 PM, with performances beginning approximately at 2:00 PM. Friday and Saturday night performances will wrap up around 10:30 PM, and Sunday night's performances will wrap up around 9:30 PM.
