It's that time of the year where the rumour mill is running rampant. One of the local rumours is that Two-Hit Whit could be heading to the National League and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Merrifield just signed a four-year deal in the off season but according an earlier story from kckingdom.com, the Royals only have two or three players that aren't available for trade, and Merrifield is not included in those.

According to the article:

The 30-year-old Merrifield would provide the Dodgers with an everyday second baseman – one who’s also capable of playing the outfield if need be – thereby kicking Hernandez and Taylor to the bench.

The article also mentioned:

The only defensive position the Dodgers really needed to address was at second base, and that just so happens to be one of the many positions Merrifield plays. In the blurb above, they also touched on how he can play in the outfield as well.

So if you're a fan of Merrifield, your days of seeing him in a Royals uniform may be numbered.
