West Central Missouri is ready for another winter storm that could drop six to seven inches of snow between Tuesday, February 11, 2025, and Thursday, February 13, 2025. Sedalia and Warrensburg have released information residents need about snow plowing and Emergency Snow Routes ahead of the storm.

Sedalia

The City of Sedalia issued a press release reminding residents about the Snow Emergency Parking Ordinance. The release reads, "We have already faced one significant snow and ice event that created difficult conditions for drivers, emergency responders, and snow removal crews. As we brace for the incoming storm, it is more important than ever that we all do our part to ensure plows can operate efficiently and emergency vehicles can respond without delay."

In other words, if you want the City to do a better job plowing, remove your vehicles from the streets before the snow falls.

Sedalia's Snow Emergency Parking Ordinance prohibits parking on any Snow Emergency Routes when two or more inches of snow or ice have accumulated. Additionally, the City of Sedalia may declare a Snow Emergency, temporarily banning parking on Emergency Snow Routes. You can check out Sedalia's snow routes below or here.

Warrensburg

The City of Warrensburg has already declared a Phase 1 Snow Emergency for Tuesday, February 11, through Thursday, February 13, 2025. Parking will be prohibited on designated snow routes and cul-de-sacs from 9:00 PM Tuesday, February 11, through 7:00 AM CDT Thursday, February 13.

The City says its top priority during snowstorms is keeping thoroughfares clear and safe. Residential streets will be plowed after main thoroughfares, snow routes, and priority locations. Residents and property owners are also advised to clear sidewalks for pedestrian safety.

The bottom line is that we will get snow or ice over the next few days. The best way to ensure streets get plowed, and our communities keep moving is to move your vehicle out of the way and let the plows do their thang.
