Skid Row Officially Name ZP Theart as New Vocalist
It's time to remove the "interim" tag. During a recent show at the Casino in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Skid Row officially confirmed that ZP Theart is their singer.
Theart has been handling vocal duties since the end of 2015, stepping in for ex-TNT vocalist Tony Harnell, who enjoyed a brief tenure fronting the band. Sebastian Bach is the band's best known vocalist, exiting the band in 1996. After a brief run with Sean Mars, the band utilized Johnny Solinger as their vocalist for 16 years before giving way to Harnell.
As seen in the video above, bassist Rachel Bolan made the official announcement, telling the crowd, "I wanna make this announcement finally formal. He's been with us for a year, our new lead singer, ZP Theart. We're going in the studio soon to make a new record. We love this guy. He just lives too far away. We've gotta get him to move to the States, but that's coming down the road." After the announcement, the group performed a cover of Ramones' "Psycho Therapy," which can be viewed in the player provided.
Prior to Skid Row, Theart was best known for his work with Dragonforce, and he's also performed with I Am I.
