The Astonishing Truth: How We Really Feel About Fruitcake

Maybe it’s not as unpopular as we think!Well, to be honest, I don't know if I've ever been gifted a fruitcake. But you've heard the jokes, apparently according to all of them, everyone hates fruitcake. So why is it still a thing? Are we all in denial....or is someone fibbing?!
In a recent survey about favorite Christmas desserts, fruitcake landed in a cozy third place, right after cookies and eggnog. It even beat out candy canes and gingerbread!
Fruitcake often gets a bad rap as the Christmas dessert that nobody really likes but always makes an appearance. Maybe it’s time to give fruitcake a break! Well, maybe you don't want to make one. But if you get one as a present, it could be a good thing.
According to the survey, Fruitcake didn’t come in last at all. Cookies took the crown with 29% of the votes, and eggnog followed with 19%. Fruitcake snagged 12% of the votes.
So what lost to fruitcake? Candy canes* only got 8%, and gingerbread barely made a mark with just 6%. The “other” desserts made up 24% of the votes, but since they didn’t get enough love for their own categories, I say they rank below fruitcake, too!
So maybe we should give fruitcake another chance? Why not!
