Three people were injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Saturday afternoon in Henry County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 1999 Chevy Tahoe, driven by 61-year-old Thomas R. Ward of Windsor, was on Highway Y, south of County Road NE 480 around 3:45 p.m., when the driver lost control and the Tahoe ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Ward suffered moderate injuries and was transported by PCAD to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.

His passengers were transported to Research Medical Center. Neither were wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

James R. Sanders, 64, also of Windsor, suffered serious injuries and was flown to Research.

Cassandra G. Sutton, 32, of Clinton suffered serious injuries and was taken to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, then flown to Research.

The Chevy Tahoe was totaled and towed by Clinton Wrecker.

Henry County Deputies assisted the two Troopers on scene.

Ward was later arrested by the Patrol at 6:48 p.m. He now faces charegs of driving while intoxicated, no insurance and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. Ward was taken to the Henry County Detention Center for a 24-hour hold.
