One of the questions that gets asked in local Facebook groups like Best of Sedalia or The Burg is "What's being built over by..." The latest query popped up on The Burg Facebook group by K Shea Thomas Codemo: "Does anyone know what is going on behind the old Rib Crib?"

For those West Central Missourians who might not be as familiar with Warrensburg as those who call the town home, The old Rib Crib is tucked away on the other side of Maguire from Walmart. That would be on your left as you head out of town towards Higginsville.

One of the group's top contributors, Derek Moffett, supplied the answer and even posted a screenshot of a press release from the CMK Properties website. CMK Properties, if you're interested, is a fully integrated real estate investment, development, and management company.

So, what's coming to Warrensburg? A 21,930-square-foot store that will bring Tractor Supply Company to town. According to CMK Properties, this is the real estate company's fifth partnership with Tractor Supply Company, the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States.

CMK Properties CEO John Hopfensperger is quoted in the company's release, "On behalf of CMK Properties, I am thrilled to announce the arrival of the Tractor Supply Company to Warrensburg, MO. TSC brings essential goods and unbeatable service to this wonderful community. We are excited to get going on this project.”

Tractor Supply Company will compete with both Walmart and Wood Shed in Warrensburg. The company says it serves the needs of recreational farmers, homeowners, gardeners, pet enthusiasts, and "all who enjoy living Life Out Here."

Tractor Supply Company has stores in Sedalia, Higginsville, Clinton, Marshall, Lee's Summit, Richmond, Independence, Belton, Carrolton, and Excelsior Springs. CMK Properties says they anticipate the store opening in the spring of 2025.
