Two 15-year-old girls were injured Sunday afternoon when their Waverunner crossed in front of a pontoon boat at Lake of the Ozarks.

The MSHP reports that a 2013 Yamaha Waverunner, driven by a 15-year-old girl from Jeff City, was at the 2-mile marker of the Grand Glaize Arm of the lake around 12:30 p.m. when the Waverunner crossed in front of a 2010 Playcraft pontoon boat, driven by 53-year-old Kerry R. Seaman of Columbia. The Waverunner was then struck by the Playcraft and the occupants of the Waverunner were ejected.

The Jeff City girl suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Lake Regional Hospital, while the other girl, from Russellville, suffered serious injuries and was also transported to Lake Regional, but then flown to MU Medical Center in Columbia.

The Playcraft had minor damage, while the Waverunner was totaled.

A total of five Troopers were on scene.
