Massive Laundry Detergent Recall May Impact Missouri
We all do laundry and buy laundry detergent regularly. If you purchase laundry detergent from Amazon, you'll want to keep reading because, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, one brand sold on Amazon has been recalled due to a bacteria risk.
What Detergent Is Being Recalled and Why
Woolite Delecates detergent in 50-fluid-ounce bottles is being recalled because it can contain Pseudomonas species bacteria, including Pusedomonas olevorans, an organism found widely in soil and water. It's not a problem for most healthy individuals. Still, if you have a weakened immune system or an external medical device exposed to the bacteria, it is a serious infection risk. Additionally, the bacteria can enter the body through the eyes or a break in the skin.
Recall Details
If Woolite Delecates detergent in 50-fluid-ounce bottles bought from Amazon is your detergent brand, here's how to determine if your bottle is part of the recall.
The detergent being recalled has the SKU number SKU 62338-72724. The lot codes, which are found at the top of the back of the bottle, are S24364, S24365, and S24366. They were sold exclusively through Amazon's website. The bottles are white with a light pink label and cap. They were sold in January 2025 and cost between $14 and $17.
If you have one of the recalled bottles, keep reading to find out how to get a refund and dispose of the product without exposing yourself to the detergent.
How to Get a Refund and Dispose of the Unused Product
If you want a refund, write your name and the word "recalled" in permanent marker on the back of the detergent bottle. Then, take a photo with the UPC and lot code visible, and email the image to ConsumerCare_USA@reckitt.com.

Once the refund is received, consumers should dispose of the product by ensuring the bottle is tightly closed and placing it in their trash. The bottle's contents should not be poured out, nor should the product bottle be recycled.
