Monday morning, Officers responded to a potential domestic disturbance in the 1200 block of West 11th Street. Officers spoke with the involved members, and determined a subject involved was a potential danger to herself and others. Courtney Michelle Hughes, 39, of Green Ridge, was detained and taken to the BHRC for a fit for confinement check. Hughes, who the report notes was highly intoxicated, was then placed on a 12-hour protective custody hold.


 

On the morning of February 27th, Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of a hit and run collision. Officers arrived on scene, gathered pertinent information, and a report was completed.

Early Wednesday morning, Officers made contact with a subject who was walking in the 800 block of South Warren Avenue. After doing a computer check with Dispatch, the subject was found to have an extraditable Failure to Appear warrant for their arrest from Morgan County. The original citation was given in July of 2021, the warrant was issued in September 2021, and after failed attempts to reschedule, was issued again in September 2023. Myron D. Seabury, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested on his FTA warrant on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle On the Highway Without a Valid License and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Seabury was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked, pending a $500 cash only bond.


 

On the evening of February 22nd, the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Sedalia Police Department’s K9 Unit with a vehicle stop at the Casey’s store, 1601 East Broadway Boulevard. After arriving, K9 Rocky was deployed for a free air sniff around the violator’s vehicle. The sniff resulted in an alert. A probable cause search was conducted by the Sheriff’s Office, and resulted in the discovery of items related to illegal drug activity. There was no further information in the report.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Break Time store, 808 East Broadway Boulevard, in regards to a trespassing report. Officers made contact with the suspect about ten minutes later in the 1200 block of South Montgomery Avenue. The suspect was identified, and through investigation, it was determined she was wanted for the theft at the Break Time. Shawna Christine Blackmore, 31, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Shoplifting. Blackmore was issued a citation, and was trespassed from the Break Time.


 

Monday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of West 3rd Street for a report of a disturbance. Officers arrived on scene, and gathered information from the victim. The intoxicated suspect was located approximately twenty minutes later in the 600 block of West 3rd Street. Sarita Linda Leon, 62, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Private Peace Disturbance. Leon was cited and released on the scene.


 

Sedalia Police located a wanted person in the 200 block of West Broadway Boulevard Tuesday afternoon. Officers confirmed the warrant’s information, and the citation was filed in November 2023, after the subject allegedly drove at 85 MPH in a 60 MPH zone. Their warrant was issued by Cooper County in February 2024 after the suspect failed to appear in court January. Shannon Rene Johnson, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested for her Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Speeding (20-25 MPH Over). Johnson was transported to the Pettis County jail to be booked, pending a cash only bond of $299.00.
