Monday evening, Officers responded to the 400 block of Albright Court for a report of a disturbance. During the investigation, it was determined the male involved left in a vehicle after drinking. The male drove to a church nearby the Police Department, and then walked to the Police Department. It was determined the driver was intoxicated. Marcus Dewayne Bowens, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Bowens was booked and released with a municipal citation.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to The Dog House, 510 West 16th Street, for a burglary report Monday morning. Officers responded to the scene, collected evidence and information, and report was completed.

Last Thursday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a property damage report. Officers made contact with Noah James Mitchell, and gathered information. A report was submitted.


 

Monday morning, Officers received a call regarding an attempted vehicle theft. The incident took place in the 1800 block of South Prospect. Officers spoke with Ashly McGovern, who gave a description of the suspect. The suspect has not been located at this time.


 

Monday morning, Officers responded to a report of an unwanted person on St Paul’s Lutheran Church property, 701 South Massachusetts Avenue. Officers made contact with the suspect, and found the suspect had a warrant for his arrest*. Randy Loren Veeder, 47, Homeless, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Trespassing in the 1st Degree. Veeder was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked, to be released on his own recognizance.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of South Missouri Avenue for a report of an attempted theft of a vehicle. Officers arrived on scene, gathered pertinent information, and then a report was completed.


 

On the afternoon of January 25th, Officers were dispatched to the State Fair Shopping Center, 1400 South Limit Avenue. Officers investigated a hit and run accident in the parking lot of the Family Center Farm and Home, Suite 22. Officers conducted an investigation on scene, and a report was completed.


 

Monday morning, Officers responded to a report in the lobby of the Police Department over destruction of property. The reporting party stated a neighbor came to their door, punched it, and caused damage. The incident occurred in the 400 block of East 7th Street. The reporting party does not wish to press charges at this time.


 

* 23SEDMU00702 was filed on November 27, 2023. Veeder was trespassed from the Woods Supermarket, 701 East Broadway Boulevard, in that incident. Veeder has also been trespassed from several other businesses in that same area, all from incidents ranging from November 2023 to January 2024. The businesses include Fav Trip Convenience store, 216 West Broadway, The Dollar General at 713 East Broadway Boulevard, and the Smoker’s Outlet, 1700 East Broadway Boulevard.
