Well, the world of Rock n Roll lost another great one. Levon Helm passed away yesterday, he had been fighting throat cancer since 1997. I never see David Nace sing that I don't think of Levon, Levon was of course a singing drummer like David. Levon is probably most known for his great music with "The Band", ie. The Weight, Up on Cripple Creek amongst others, finally in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Levon was too sick to attend the ceremonies this past weekend.
Think about this Levon was part of Woodstock, sold millions of records but died almost broke, he recently said on CNN you have to make a choice pay the mortgage or your medical bills, how very sad, he deserved better. He didn't stray far from his roots, he was living outside Woodstock New York. And it was there that he made Rock Magic in "The Barn"
So The Barn, as the residence is known around Helm's adopted hometown of Woodstock, New York, became the setting for what he called a "last celebration."

Not quite. Instead, The Barn became the center of an unlikely and unrivaled rock 'n' roll revival according to a online article on CNN

It was there that Helm regularly hosted the Midnight Ramble, weekly concerts that attracted sell-out crowds and all-star support from the likes of Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson and Steely Dan's Donald Fagen.

The result not only paid the bills but also led to a creative resurgence for Helm, with his collaborations producing back-to-back Grammy-winning albums: 2007's "Dirt Farmer" and 2009's "Electric Dirt."

Levon Helm...Pure Magic and will be missed by us all
