Dave Grohl briefly started smoking weed again, but has sworn it off thanks to one of reality television's most recognizable names, the Kardashians.

"I stopped doing drugs when I was about 20 years old," Grohl tells the Sun, "but I recently thought, 'Oh, I'm going to start smoking pot again to cure insomnia. I'd put the kids to bed, go upstairs and smoke a bit of pot. But then I'd get stuck in front of the Kardashians on TV for 45 minutes. And it freaked me out. I was like, 'I'm never doing this ever again. It's definitely not for me.'"

Grohl has been vocal about his own refusal to take drugs, saying that he's never dabbled in the usual rock star trappings of cocaine, heroin or speed. Grohl was part of a BBC-produced anti-drug video in 2009, which seemed to reference his late Nirvana bandmate Kurt Cobain's battles with addiction. "I've seen people die," Grohl said back then. "It ain't easy being young, but that stuff doesn't make it any easier."
