The City of Sedalia, in partnership with Viking Industrial Painting, has completed logo paint repairs on the downtown Main Street water tower.

After premature peeling was observed on the tower logos, Viking Industrial Painting recommended using an updated primer and improved application process to ensure long-term durability and reduce the risk of future issues. The City supported this recommendation, and repairs proceeded using the revised materials and process, the City said on Thursday afternoon.

The paintwork has now been completed. Per the contractor’s guidance, the water level in the tower will be raised Friday morning to allow the coatings an additional day to cure fully.

No additional costs were incurred by the City for this repair, as the work remains covered under warranty. No disruption to water service occurred during the process, the City said in a press release.
